Queen of Rockabilly

I am so excited to say that at long last I have an opportunity to see one of my music idols live.  On May 4th, myself and three friends will be at the Great American Music Hall watching the one, the only....

One-time girlfriend of Elvis Presley and the Queen of Rockabilly herself.  Apparently Jack White (of White Stripes fame) saw this video of her from the 50's and immediately decided he had to work with her.

Their new album on Nonesuch Records is called The Party Ain't Over.  The title references her popular album from her rockabilly heyday, Let's Have a Party.  White plays on the majority of the tracks on the album and takes the Producer credit.

This great dame may be in her 73rd year, but the years have done nothing but add a weathered gravel to her feisty, rockin' voice.  The album itself is a mix of her classics and a few new numbers chosen by Jack White.

If all this isn't enough to convince you of how amazing this living testament to the glory days of Rock 'n Roll is, here's Wanda singing her signature hit "Funnel of Love" with Jack White on the Conan O'Brien Show:
